Identification of genome variants influencing litter size in pigs
Aim:
This project focuses on studying the effects of candidate gene variants on litter size and vitality in pigs.
Hypothesis:
Genetic variants in candidate genes, which are known to influence fertility from biological processes, might affect litter size in pigs.
Materials and Methods:
The relationship between genotypes and phenotypes will be assessed with association analyses.
Expectations:
We expect to find gene variants associated with fertility, which could be used as selection criteria.
