Start: 08/2002
End: 08/2003

In this project an evaluation of the effects of the compensatory allowances in less favoured areas ‚Spreewald-typical use of arable land‘ (Art. 20 VO (EG) 1957/1999) and in areas with environment-specific requirements ‚NATURA 2000‘ (Art. 16 VO (EG) 1957/1999) in Brandenburg within the midterm-review of the ‚Development plan for the rural areas in Brandenburg (EPLR)‘ was carried out. Following qualitative semi-structured interviews with relevant actors and experts, such as agricultural firms and representatives of the agricultural and environmental administrations and of interest groups available and relevant Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) data were analysed. Together with the evaluators of the other parts of the EPLR in Brandenburg conclusions will be drawn and finally recommendations will be given to (possibly) adapt the EPLR.
