New Paper: Dennis Olumeh, Dagmar Mithöfer Impact of collective action on household welfare: Empirical evidence from baobab collectors in Malawi
Empirical studies show that smallholder farmers can benefit from collective action by improving their crop production and access to better markets. Studies, particularly those analyzing gender and collective action, for low-use crops such as baobab are scarce. To address this gap, we estimate the impact of cooperative membership on baobab income and food security using data from a survey of 864 baobab collectors in Malawi.
