Teaching

1) We teach economic theory and its application to agrifood systems 

  • Bachelor: Einführung in die Volkswirtschaftslehre 
  • Master: Microeconomics: Theory and Policy Analysis; International Macroeconomics and Agricultural Trade; Economics of Agricultural and Rural Development.

 

2) Based on our research, we teach basic and advanced courses in simulation modeling 

At Humboldt University of Berlin: 

  - Weltmärkte der Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft (Modul Governance, Politik und Märkte) (BSc)
  - Introduction to Simulation Modeling in Market and Policy Analysis (MSc), 
  - Intermediate Computable General Equilibrium Modeling (PhD and MSc), 
  - The Partial Equilibrium Model CAPRI in Market and Policy Analysis (PhD and MSc)
  - Human Environmental Systems Interaction (MSc).

In multi-week courses in a transdisciplinary setting in partner countries where we      have a research focus.
  - Over the years, we taught short courses in Ghana, Jordan, Kenya, Namibia, Benin,      Sudan, Ethiopia and Bhutan. 

 

3) And we explore the science-policy interface in courses involving excursions to political institutions and stakeholders in our master programs such as 

  • Institutions and Instruments of Development Co-operation and 
  • Topics in Agricultural and Food Policy - Brussels Excursion.
