moor archiv
The Department of Soil Science in Berlin-Dahlem is home to the "Moorarchiv".
The collection with over 500 maps on a scale of 1:5,000 of more than 60,000 ha of moors in Brandenburg as well as numerous field books and site reports on moors in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt were created in the 1950s to explore agricultural usability. Today they offer a source for research on climate and soil protection that is unique in terms of the level of detail.
