Plants in silico

Plants in silico

The physiological functions of plants respond to environmental stimuli at different levels. If the whole system, from cell to crop, is not taken into account, conclusions from experiments at the level of the whole plant may be unreliable. Computer simulations (in silico) are a powerful tool in modern plant research to gain a systems understanding of plant functions. We are interested in using computer models to explain and predict physiological phenomena that are not easily explained by experimental biologists.
