New Study on the interdependence of electricity storage and transmission
The paper analyses the potential of power storage to mitigate stress in electricity transmission. While previously it was mostly assumed that additional storage capacities could relieve grids, the study defines specific situation for which this is the case. Furthermore, it shows that there can also exist situation in which storage increases the need for transmission.
