Research interests 

• Plant-based diets for the prevention and therapy of disease, including liver and psychiatric diseases
• The spectrum of vitamin D metabolites in health and disease
• The human and plant microbiomes

Research Group Food and Health

• Prof. Stokes is head of the Working Group Food and Health
• The working group works in close collaboration with the Department of Molecular Toxicology, German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbrücke (DIfE). The former group Nutrients and Health at the DIfE has now formally integrated with the current group Food and Health at HU Berlin.
