Dr. Claudia Coral, Dr. Robert Cárcamo Mallen and M.Sc. Aditya Korekallu Srinivasa participated in the 4th International workshop on System Innovation towards Sustainable Agriculture (SISA-4): Transitions towards sustainable agriculture and food systems: Connecting research and practice held at the University of Kassel (Germany), 07.-09. October 2024.

The SISA-4 Workshop was organized by the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences at the University of Kassel and supported by the Sustainability Transitions Network, the Synergia program on Technology for Ecology at Wageningen University and Research and LabEx SITES on Science, Innovation and Technology in Society at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Society (IFRIS) of Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE) with support from Foundation fiat panis.

The workshop invited researchers and practitioners to co-generate an integrative overview on contemporary issues in agri-food transitions and future avenues in research, policy making as well as in innovation and transition practice.

During the event researchers of the Agrifood Chain Management Group contributed varied perspectives to the debate on socially and environmentally agrifood just transitions.

  1. Sc. Aditya Korekallu Srinivasa presented the paper on Solar powered irrigation in India, focussing on understanding stakeholder perceptions on scaling up the innovation.

Dr. Robert Carcamo presented the paper on AF transitions in Central America based on the project "Multiple Crises: Transitioning Central America's Agrifood Systems Towards Sustainability". His intervention  focused on how Central America's agrifood systems can address multiple crises, from climate change to economic instability, and transition toward more sustainable practices.

 Dr. Claudia Coral, presented the results of the research framed within the Horizon Europe project Watson on "Reconceptualising food fraud vulnerability towards socially and environmentally just agri-food transitions, a case study of the honey supply chain”
