Research interests
  • Development of analytical methods for detecting secondary plant metabolites
  • Method development and adjustment of procedures regarding extraction and detection
  • Improvement of secondary plant metabolite detection by using spectrometric methods (especially HPLC, LC-MS)
  • Analysis of secondary plant metabolites of plants (especially compounds from trees and tropical plants)
  • Effects of stress on the secondary plant metabolite profile
  • Correlation of the secondary plant metabolite profile with its bioactive potential (compound mixtures as well as fractionated single compounds) as…
    • Anti-oxidative as well as anti-carcinogenic potential
    • Mutagenic as well as toxicity potential
  • Exploitation of secondary plant metabolites for an improved diet and preventative health
