Urban Plant Ecophysiology

Ecophysiology investigates the properties of living organisms, which interact with the environment and are often seen as adaptations to their respective habitats.

Urban sites often represent extreme habitats for plants. Under stressful conditions, numerous biochemical and epigenetic plant parameters are changing. From the ecological point of view, this usually results in a loss of fitness, but also has an impact on the quality of crops. Corresponding questions are dealt with in three working groups.
