International Master In Rural Development

The international master programme Rural Development (IMRD) runs under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission and is offered by six European universities: Ghent University (Belgium), Humboldt University Berlin (Germany), Agrocampus Ouest (France), Cordoba University (Spain), Nitra Agricultural University (Slovakia) and Pisa University (Italy). Together, the partner institutions award a joint MSc degree.

Students can also go for a semester to the affiliated partner universities in third countries: Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (Ecuador), University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore (India), Nanjing Agricultural University and China Agricultural University (China) und University of Pretoria (South Africa).

Additionally, the IMRD Programme offers two specific study tracks: 

  • ATLANTIS Programme in cooperation with the University of Arkansas (USA)

Transatlantic study track particularly for European students.  This 2-year master programme (120 ECTS) is jointly organised by the IMRD consortium and the University of Arkansas awarding a Double MSc Degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Economics.   • EKAFREE Programme in cooperation with a consortium of South Korean Universities: Korea University, Seoul National University and Chungbuk National University

Transnational study track for European and South Korean applicants. The 2-year master programme (120 ECTS) leads to Double MSc Degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Economics of the partner universities involved.  The exchange programme is funded by the European Commission in the frame of the education cooperation with non-European industrial countries.
