Identification of genetic factors influencing sperm quality of breeding boars

The aim of the cooperation project is the development of a biotechnological process for the characterisation of the boar reproductive performance with gene analytical methods.

This work is focused on the contexts between identified genetic factors and fertility-relevant in-vitro-traits of the produced sperm. In addition, the in-vitro sperm quality traits and genetical markers will be tested for association to the fertility performance of boars.

The project results shall meet in new selection criteria that characterise reproduction activity of breeding boars.
