Theory-based studies of ongoing processes of institutional change in nature-related socio-ecological systems, such as

  • land use, rangeland and irrigation policy reforms including-community-based natural resource management and other forms of decentralization
  • bioeconomy and energy policy reforms and its land use implications
  • climate change adaptation and mitgation in the agricultural sector
  • commercialization of small-scale horticultural production by means of value chain integration
  • rural development project evaluation and assessment
