Objectives

  • To become familiar with concepts and analytical tools of environmental and resource economics and with policy design in these areas

Contents

  • Concepts of sustainability, theories on renewable and non-renewable resources, understanding externalities and public goods, environmental valuation methods, pollution control instruments, instruments and institutions for resource management and environmental policy, agri-environmental programmes

Lectures and seminars with paper presentation

Examination

Written exam and paper based on group work

Desireable requirements

"Institutional Economics and Political Economy I - Basics and application" and "Environmental and Resource Economics I" or equivalent
