The changing role of agricultural institutions and farming: a collaborative project in Germany and UK

Start: 11/2001
End: 11/2003

Important changes are occurring in the role of agricultural institutions and farming in Germany and the UK. This project had two main purposes: 1) to review the evolving role of agriculture institutions and farming from a comparative perspective, and 2) to explore opportunities for a future research collaboration with the Centre for Rural Economy at the University Newcastle upon Tyne. It is financed with DAAD funds under the British German Academic Research Collaboration Programme (ARC). Among other things, temporary exchanges of post graduate and post-doc researchers took place and joint scientific workshops were organised.
