Announcement Summer School - Archetype Analysis in Sustainability Research; 8-12 October, 2018

We are happy to inform you about the upcoming Summer School

"Archetype Analysis in Sustainability Research”

organised during

8-12 October, 2018

at the Resource Economics Group, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.


The training is primarily offered to scientists on a PhD and postdoc level. In addition, senior level researchers interested in broadening their skills in archetype analysis are welcome (see more information in the announcement). The application deadline is June 29, 2018.



Raiffeisen-Schulze-Delitzsch-Award 2017



The Institute of agricultural cooperatives has given the Raiffeisen-Schulze-Delitzsch-Award to Mr. Ziming Liu for his dissertaion on "Understanding the Land Cooperative Program in China: Determinants and Impact" and to Mrs. Marianne Helena Poot for her master thesis "Agricultural Cooperatives as Knowledge Intermediaries: The Case of Uganda".


Idea and practice of organizing shared interests in cooperatives added to the UNESCO-List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage


During the 11th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage which takes place from 28 November to 2 December 2016, the idea and practice of organizing shared interests in cooperatives has been added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Call for Papers: AGI Young Researchers' Conference


Since many years, the Young Researchers’ Conference of the Working Group of Institutes for Co-operative Studies (AGI) provides a ground for presenting and discussing the scientific work of young researchers in the field of cooperative studies. The interdisciplinary meeting serves to achieve qualification, exchange and access to a network of researchers and is open for any kind of research that deals with cooperatives.

The conference will take place from 31.03.-01.04.2017 at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Albrecht-Daniel-Thaer-Award for the best dissertation in 2015


The PhD dissertation of Jens Rommel Institutions, Behavior, and the Environment: An experimental approach (supervised by Prof. Dr. Markus Hanisch) has received the Albrecht-Daniel-Thaer-Award.

Jens Rommel - PhD completed


Jens Rommel who did his PhD at the Division of Economics of Agricultural Cooperatives has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on 04.03.2015. The topic of his PhD thesis is: Institutions, Behavior, and the Environment: An experimental approach.
