As a representative of the 2020 cohort within the Postdoc Academy for Transformational Leadership, funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, Dr. Harry Hoffmann has successfully secured funding from the foundation to reconnect with his former colleagues during a workshop entitled “Nurturing Mid-Career Collective Leadership in Sustainability Research”, scheduled for summer 2026 in Berlin. The group, known as the Careoperative, has previously co-authored two publications: Creating Leadership Collectives for Sustainability Transformations and Reaping What We Sow: Centering Values in Food Systems Transformation Research. Building on these accomplishments, the Careoperative is currently preparing a third collective publication. This forthcoming paper will examine their group’s development and collaboration within existing academic structures in Europe, Canada, and Australia, thereby offering valuable insights into how collective approaches can enhance leadership and sustainability research across international contexts.
