New publication co-authored by Dr. Claudia Coral on Ecosystem Services and Living Income in Cocoa Agroforestry Systems
Mar, 2026
The study “Linking ecosystem services and living income: Assessing their contribution to cocoa farmers' livelihoods in Côte d’Ivoire” assesses the potential of selected ecosystem services (ESS) to enhance the living income (LI) of cocoa farmers. Using farmer surveys and field inventories, the research highlights how tree diversity in cocoa agroforestry systems supports cocoa productivity, carbon sequestration, and additional livelihood benefits such as food, firewood, and medicinal resources.
