Restructuring higher education in resource and environmental economics in East-Asian transition economies

The aim of the Asia-Link RECREATE project titled "Restructuring higher education in resource and environmental economics in East-Asian transition economies" is (1) to adapt higher education in resource and environmental economics to the requirements of the emerging market economy in China and Vietnam, and (2) to enhance the international orientation of education and research in this field and raise it to international standards. The target groups are young and promising staff members at two leading higher education institutes in this field in South China and Vietnam. Main activities comprise intensive training courses in China and Vietnam, curriculum development and revision, staff training abroad, PhD supervision, short-term research projects, and strengthening international contacts. To adapt higher education in resource and environmental economics to the requirements of the emerging market economy in China and Vietnam that meets international standards. The project has the following two specific objectives:

1. Strengthening staff capacity for education and research in resource and environmental economic at Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) and at the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City (UEH)

2. Development and revision of education curricula in environmental and resource economics at undergraduate and graduate level in Vietnam and China.
