This research groups investigates the processes of structural change in agriculture in the specific context of system transformation in Central and Eastern European Countries. Taking an encompassing social-economic approach the individual projects in the research group analyse important aspects of the complex agricultural system, its components and relevant cause-effect relations from different perspectives. Three main aspects are focussed: a) Agricultural firms and structural change in agriculture, b) Interdependencies within the agricultural sector; Policy making and international framework conditions.
