New discussion paper on prosumage regulation in power distribution grids
The study analyses how the influence of prosumage (households with photo-voltaic generation and battery storage) on the distribution grid levels can be regulated. It shows that even simple measures can be effective in reducing grid requirements and thus facilitate renewable energy integration. Complete self-sufficiency (autarky) of prosumage households is, however, socially undesirable due to an associated increase in system costs.
The paper is the result of a cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University, which Paul Neetzow visited for two months.
