The complex challenges of feeding a growing population, managing limited natural resources and minimising environmental impact have become a significant part of the global consciousness in recent years. Biosystems Engineering focuses on developing solutions for these challenges at the interface of biological and technological systems. Our research areas include open-field and controlled-environment agriculture, minimising emissions with circular production systems, biosensor optimisation and crop quality monitoring.
