Research Interests

Current research: “An institutional perspective on re-scaling of resource governance: the cases of water and marine governance in the European Union” (“Habilitation” - Working Title)

Conceptual background: With a background in Institutional, Environmental, Resource, Infrastructure and General Economics and European Policy Analysis and good knowledge of Political Theory, my research interests are the “Social Sciences of Natural Resources and the Environment” with a specific focus on the role of institutions and economics for understanding social-ecological systems.

Empirical background: Previous substantive work focused a) on Europeanization and water use and coastal development (the nexus of water, tourism, agricultural and landscape development) and transboundary water sharing, specifically in South-Western Europe, and b) on European governance and Impact Assessment procedures of the European Union.
