Academic Career


10.02 – 08.05

Research Fellow at the Partnership for Resources and Environmental Management Analysis (PREMA), joint Project with Washington State University (United States) and Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration (TIIM)

  • participating in various surveys on Sustainable Development of Water Users Associations (WUAs);
  • taking part in the conferences and seminars organized by the Project, and preparing annual reports on Water and Environmental Management.

05.05 – 06.05

Visiting scholar at the Washington State University (WSU), United States and a member of the team for Economical Policy Analysis Course Development Program.

  • taking a class at Social & Economic Sciences Research Center on survey research design, methods, analysis;
  • working with WSU faculty members on developing a new cost & return budget survey for Uzbekistan’s newly established WUAs.

01.05 - 04.05

Research Assistant on the survey of Private Farmers Production Factor Analysis in Tashkent and Djizakh Region´s Water Users Associations (WUAs), Uzbekistan, group of 250 private farmers. PREMA Partnership for Resources & Environmental Management Analysis Project (joint project with WSU & TIIM).

  • preparing the questionnaires and surveying farmers;
  • entering data and writing international report in Russian and English languages;
  • carrying out a statistical data analysis with the help of SPSS Program (tabulation and regression analysis).

02.04 – 06.04

Visiting scholar at the Washington State University (WSU), United States and a member of the team for Environmental and Natural Resources Economics Course Development Program.

  • attending Microeconomics, Theory of the Firm & Market Policy, Natural Resource Economics, Water law and Math Modeling and Linear Equation classes.

International Short-term Consultant, Independent Evaluation Department (IED), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Tashkent Residence, Uzbekistan

  • facilitating IED missions related to the preparation of the sector assistance program evaluation (SAPE) in education, agriculture and water resources, and water; and project performance evaluation reports in the transport sector in Uzbekistan;
  • contributing to the evaluation study related to the agriculture and water resources, including the identification of relevant sector issues; and
  • assisting in the evaluation of ADB’s water policy and related operations.

09.07 – 09.09

Junior Professional Associate, Independent Evaluation Group (IEG), The World Bank, Washington DC, United States

  • writing a case study on IWRM in Central Asia. Field visits to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan;
  • evaluating the World Bank's water-related projects. Desk-based project evaluations of Tunisia and Moldova; and
  • reviewing the Bank's water portfolio and writing background papers on specific topics, such as World Rivers & Lakes, Coastal Zone Management, Reservoirs, and Irrigation & Drainage.

05.07 – 08.07

International Short-term Consultant, Sustainable Development Division, World Bank Institute, Washington DC, United States

  • reviewing previous and on-going water management reforms in Central Asia, focus on Uzbekistan;
  • analyzing current conditions of the Uzbek Water Users Associations (WUAs); and
  • preparing a report based on findings from the literature review and field trip, and slide presentation.
